About Us

South Dakota Advocacy Network for Women was originally founded in 1984 and was a leading force for legislation that benefits women and their families for nearly 30 years.  In June of 2022, following the Dobbs Decision, concerned women throughout the state decided it was time to reestablish SDANW.

SDANW is a force for positive change.  We are dedicated to empowering women to achieve economic self-sufficiency and to assure the health and well-being of themselves and their families.

We work to encourage respect for women to make their own choices in health, education, employment, and family life.  We welcome your support and involvement in shaping the future of South Dakota women.

There is much yet to do.

We live gratefully on the lands of the Oceti Sakowin.  We take pride in being an inclusive, diverse collaborative.
